Orthodontics provide treatment to improve the positioning of teeth. Whilst this procedure / treatment has become very popular with the introduction of key market leaders in “transform a smile”. Unfortunately, there are a growing number of claims where patients have not received the best possible care in the hands of the orthodontics, with negligence causing pain, suffering and injury.

If you have received unsuitable treatment and injury has been caused you may have a claim. A failure to properly assess a patient and carefully plan the treatment may lead to the patient receiving unsuitable treatment and injury being caused, including the loss of teeth.

With some forms of orthodontic treatment, teeth may need to be extracted to ease the overcrowding or to expose the adult teeth which are still within the gum. Unfortunately, negligence and/or poor planning can lead to the wrong tooth or teeth being extracted.
